Ji — Privacy Policy

Ji is offline and local-first. The astrology it shows is computed on your device, and your personal information stays on your device. We (the developer) do not run a server, do not have user accounts, and do not collect, sell, or share your birth details or journal. The only data that ever leaves your device is (1) the minimal data the ad provider needs to show ads, (2) if you make an in-app purchase, the purchase-validation data handled by the app store and our purchase provider, and (3) — only if you choose to turn it on — the request to your own AI provider for an optional richer reading. Details below.

1. Information stored only on your device

The following is saved locally on your device (using the operating system's secure storage / app storage) and is never transmitted to us or anyone else:

• Your birth details (date, time, place) and the natal chart computed from them;
• Your luck-journal entries;
• Your app settings (language, notification preferences);
• Any email address and subscription preferences you enter (these are stored on your device only and are not sent anywhere unless and until an opt-in newsletter service is added and disclosed);
• Your own AI provider API key, if you choose to add one (stored in your device keychain).

You can delete this data at any time by clearing it in the app or by uninstalling the app.

2. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Ji shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google's Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, general (coarse) location derived from your IP, and ad-interaction/app-usage data. Depending on your consent and region, ads may be personalized or non-personalized.

• Where required (for example, in the EEA/UK), Ji shows a consent prompt before personalized ads are used.
• You can limit or reset your advertising identifier in your device settings, and opt out of personalized ads there.
• Google's handling of this data is described in Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).

A paid "Remove ads" option, if offered, disables advertising in the app.

3. In-app purchases (app store & RevenueCat)

If you buy the optional ad-free upgrade (or any future in-app purchase), the purchase is processed by your app store (Google Play or the Apple App Store) and validated through RevenueCat, a purchase-management provider acting on our behalf. To confirm and restore purchases they process purchase/transaction data such as the store purchase token or receipt, an anonymous app-generated identifier, and basic device/platform information. This is used only to validate your purchase and keep your ad-free entitlement working across reinstalls; it is not used to identify you personally, and none of your birth details or journal data are involved. See RevenueCat's privacy policy (revenuecat.com/privacy) and your app store's policy. If you never make a purchase, none of this is collected.

4. Optional AI reading (bring-your-own-key)

Ji's daily reading works fully offline by default. Optionally, you may add your own AI provider API key (for example, an Anthropic Claude key) to generate a richer reading. If — and only if — you do this and request such a reading, the day's astrological context is sent directly from your device to that provider to produce the text, using your key. This is governed by that provider's privacy policy (e.g. Anthropic: anthropic.com/legal/privacy). This feature is off unless you enable it, and your key is stored only on your device.

5. What we do not do

• No user accounts, logins, or profiles on a server.
• No analytics or tracking SDKs beyond what the ad provider and the purchase provider use to serve ads and validate purchases.
• We do not sell your personal information.

6. Children

Ji is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your choices

• Manage or withdraw ad consent via the in-app prompt and your device's ad settings.
• Reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings.
• Delete your on-device data by clearing it in the app or uninstalling.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves (for example, if a newsletter or account feature is added). Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
